*Right now we are aware of an enormous religious transformation. The Church attendance is diminishing and religious buildings lose their purpose. Sometimes these buildings are used again, stay empty or are demolished.

*At the same time there is a growing group of non religious people who do believe in some kind of higher power with their own spiritual expressions. These new spiritual expressions have their own spatial needs and are mostly unknown and unadressed in the development of cities.

*What does this mean for our cities?

If cities embody the spirit of man, what does cities embody without any spirit?

*New Church Lab. investigates these new 'spiritual' expressions and their spatial needs and experiments with new spatial typologies. The aim is to adress these matters and find new ways to facilitate these spiritual expressions.

'it’s up to every new generation to create architecture that speaks to the spirituality of its time.'
